 PASTOR'S WEEKLY PONDERING

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE; WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT,   PSALM 118:24. This is the middle chapter of the Bible, the middle month of the year, and middle of the month. Verse 8 is the middle verse of the Bible and its advice should be the center of our lives: "It is better to trust in the Lord that to put trust in man."
  There is one thing more which we should attend to and tht is verse 19: We are to go through the gates of righteousness which the Lord opens to us. This is the Lord's day and gathering with other born again Christians in worship to offer God our praise and thanksgiving  it the right thing to do and the right way to use this first day of the week. Hebrews 10:24-25 warns us that people will be neglecting this very practice as we move towards the latter part of the church age.  The three "let us's" we should have growing in our garden of faith are "drawing near to God," "holding the  confession of our faith,"  and  "gathering together" to stimulate our Christians life and relationships.
